Life path number calculator

Enter your date of birth to find your life path number. The result shows each step, so you can see exactly how it was reached.

Only your birth date is needed.

How to calculate your life path number

  1. Reduce the month to a single digit or master number. June is 6; November is 11, which stays 11.
  2. Reduce the day the same way. The 29th becomes 2 + 9 = 11, a master number.
  3. Reduce the year. 1990 becomes 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19, then 1 + 9 = 10, then 1.
  4. Add the three results and reduce again, stopping at 11, 22 or 33.

For 15 June 1990: 6 + 6 + 1 = 13, and 1 + 3 = 4. That is Life Path 4, written 13/4 because 13 is a karmic debt number.

Questions

Why do different sites give me different life path numbers?

There are two common ways to add up a birth date. Reducing the month, day and year separately (used here) and adding all the digits at once usually agree, but not always, especially when a master number or karmic debt number is involved. The calculator shows both when they differ.

What is a karmic debt number?

13, 14, 16 and 19 are called karmic debt numbers. If your total passes through one of them before reducing, numerologists write it as, for example, 13/4 and read it as a 4 with an extra lesson attached.

Can my life path number change?

No. It comes from your birth date, so it stays the same for life. Your Personal Year number is the one that changes every year.

What is the rarest life path number?

Among the master numbers, 33 is the rarest, because the separate month, day and year totals have to add up to exactly 33.
